Which Are Better – the Easy Scenes or the Hard Ones?

This is a band of smoke from the California fires streaming into New Mexico. It’s fascinating what an obvious demarcation it makes in the sky. Compare this to where I am (the blue dot) on the smoke map. So happy to be in the blue sky section today!
Our topic at the SFF Seven this week is the easiest scene we ever wrote and why.
I have no idea what the answer would be for me – but I can tell you exactly why that’s the case. Come on over to find out.

THE PROMISED QUEEN Available for Preorder!

THE PROMISED QUEEN has a cover and is available for preorder! It comes out May 25, 2021. Maybe by then we can do some in-person events? I swear, I want to get an RV and just travel everywhere.

Claim the hand that wears the ring, and the empire falls.

Conrí, former Crown Prince of Oriel, claimed the hand that wears the Abiding Ring, but the prophecy remains unfulfilled. Queen Euthalia of Calanthe returned to her island kingdom, but broken in mind and body. With the blood of war unleashing ancient terrors, Calanthe isn’t the haven it once was. Lia must use her magical bond with Calanthe to save their people while Con fights to hold off the vengeful Emperor Anure and his wizards. Con and Lia will have to trust in each other—and in love—to fend off ultimate disaster.

In The Promised Queen, the thrilling finale to the Forgotten Empires trilogy, the fate of the world hangs in the balance as Con, Lia, and their allies sacrifice everything in a final bid to destroy the corrupt empire.

Meanwhile, I’ve got 63,000+ words on my DARK WIZARD project. I’m really loving writing this book and I figure it will be done in a couple of weeks, God willing and the creeks don’t rise, as my great-grandmother was fond of saying. I’m also working up an exciting new project that will take my author coaching to a new level – stay tuned!
