  1. Yay! One of my top drean guests wishlist picks.

Her acceptance speech when she was given the Lifetime Achievement Award was incredible. If anyone hasn’t seen it, they should find the ceremony on YouTube.

Her romantic suspense books remain my faves.

    Thanks!

  2. I’ve tried the “a little coffee with my sugar,” (to the point where it was more of a solid than a liquid), but it still didn’t make it palatable.

Good to know I still have a few years left, lol. Way back when, I looked up one of my favorite authors to see when she started getting published, and made it my goal to get published by that age (which was 40). Not sure my flash sales count for that goal, but I’ve still got a *little* time left (I turn 39 on Sunday).

I’m not sure if being able to e-submit is actually a net benefit for new writers. Only the most determined would have submitted manuscripts back when it was by post. Now there’s a lot more noise as the bar to submit is so much lower, so we’re not only less likely to get chosen (for a combination of reasons), but also less likely to get any feedback, be remembered, etc. Plus the drain on the time of agents and editors probably has other effects. It is good for more diversity though (especially international and economically-disadvantaged writers).

It’s always uplifting to hear about successful marriages/supportive spouses 🙂

    1. LOL on the coffee with your sugar! Some people just aren’t meant for coffee. I think some people are more sensitive to bitterness than others.

And yes! LOTS of authors don’t hit their career stride until much later. And Happy Birthday today!

Interesting points on email lowering the bar and adding to the glut. Definitely agree on supportive spouses – and so glad you have one, too. 🙂
