I really did enjoy the 2010 Robin Hood too. I like it when they take a well-known story and put a new spin on it. Kinda like the 2004 King Arthur with Clive Owen and Keira Knightly – it’s a more “realistic” take on how the legend of Arthur could have happened.
Kevin Costner couldn’t even fake an accent in Prince of Thieves so Crowe was just carrying on the fine tradition. But the true crime against humanity was Sean Connery in the Highlander movies. An immortal Egyptian named Juan Sánchez VillaLobos Ramírez played by a Scottish man. It’s enough to make your head spin.
LOL! So many good examples. But I liked the Owen/Knightly King Arthur too. In fact, the cover of The Arrows of the Heart is partly inspired by a still shot of Keira, who is forever my girl. But yeah, if we lambasted EVERY movie where an actor slaughtered the accent….
