I’m surprised ya’ll don’t have site analytics that will tell you where your traffic spikes are coming from.
The fear is totally real, lol. I think the whole point of the acronym is that people *know* it’s not a totally-rational fear.
Also, I don’t know if you remember, but at the first con I met you, I talked to you and some other people for a while one night at the barcon. The only reason I made it there was b/c of FOMO, so it’s not all bad. It’s the only thing that gets me to talk to people at all at cons, to be honest. Otherwise I’d spend a lot more time in my hotel room. And I do feel like I’m missing out because I’m unable to participate in most barcon-like things (too noisy and crowded). Does it matter in the long run? Who knows, but becoming friends with you certainly impacted my life positively, and if I hadn’t gone down there that night, it might not have happened.
The site analytics that are readily available aren’t that specific. Also, they seem to stop working a lot.
Good point on FOMO. I’m not sure I remember that first meeting, but I’m glad you talked to me, for sure!
