If you don’t have a Mac, how do you format your books or is that done by someone else? Everything I’ve read says Vellum is the way to go for formatting e-books but it pretty much requires a Mac since the Windows version is bad. Trying to become an author just got a lot more expensive lol!
I’m making a note to talk about this! People who love Vellum just LOVE Vellum, but yeah – you have to have a Mac. Some people will even try to talk you into buying a used Mac, just so you can run Vellum on it. I don’t get the passionate evangelism there. I have my books formatted by Paul Salvette at BBeBooks https://bbebooksthailand.com/ The team there is amazing, diligent, accurate and speedy. They ask for three days to turn around a book and usually it’s less than 24 hrs. It costs $115 for layout for everything and they keep up with all the little persnickety differences in the various retail platforms. They make my books look pro and I love that.

Oops. I accidentally posted my reply for today to yesterday’s podcast.
I lnow so many love Vellum, but I loathe all the bloated coding it adds to books.
Oh, that’s so interesting to know! I think the final product doesn’t look as professional, but I didn’t know this!
