  1. I’m an Oxford comma girl. Sentences look wrong to me without one.

I do not have strong feelings about em dashes. But I don’t think you can have too many unless there are one or two in every single sentence.

I’ve read a number of old category romances in the last few years in order to completely finish my print TBR pile. The early to mid 80s books used a lot exclamation points! At least more than usual for current standards as I sure noticed them.

    1. This was definitely not that many.

Too funny about the older Harlequins!!! I wonder when the “ease up on exclamation points” change happened…

  2. double kitty pic! 🙂

That book/series has been on my TBR forever, but this is really not inspiring me to read it… I’ve read stuff like all of Wheel of Time (and most of it more than once), back in the day, but I just don’t have the patience for it anymore… Also part of why I don’t read Sanderson.

Alternate History is technically a sub-genre of Fantasy, fwiw.

I think there *can* be too many em-dashes, but one per page doesn’t sound excessive. *shrug.* I definitely support the Oxford comma though.
