  1. I would listen Leslie’s podcast, but I barely manage to keep up with yours ๐Ÿ™
I, too, don’t really like listening to people talk. I have access to a ton of interesting panels from various conventions at this point, and haven’t listened to very many, alas.

I’d prefer an agent who I can plan next things with, though I’d take almost anything these days, haha
I have no aspirations towards awards, and no expectations of fame, but I’d like a passionate group of fans and enough money to live comfortably without having to worry about running out of savings. I’d prefer to have an editor(s) who really likes what I do rather than going the self-publishing route.

    1. I’m the same on all those panels and workshops I’ve never listened to… *fistbump*
I think those are perfectly reasonable preferences ๐Ÿ™‚

  2. Evergreen, if it helps, Leslye’s podcast is only 20 to 25 minutes once a week. I watch it on youtube so I can see the occasional pet cameo. But I am a reader who thinks of podcasts, panels, etc as getting a glimpse of behind the scenes like with a DVD commentary. It’s fun to hear about the different processes and ways authors work.

I lnow people who think Ursula is unlikeable. I also know they are 100% wrong but they do exist. Some people will love a character, others won’t. Heroines often get a particularly raw deal because readers of all genders have unacknowledged internalized misogyny. But what’s important the writer let’s the readers in on what makes the heroine tick and ensure she is true to herself. That’s all you can do.

    1. Ah, yes – I’ve heard some of the Ursula dislike. I agree that those people are wrong. ๐Ÿ™‚ And all good points!
